INSIGHT MEDITATION RETREAT
Offered by The Yellow Springs Dharma Center

May 3-10 or May 3-5, 2019
“Four Foundations of Mindfulness”

With Rebecca Bradshaw, Insight Meditation Society
In the Satipatthana Sutta, the Buddha gives us precise instructions of
how to be mindful and what to be mindful of in a way that leads to
freeing our hearts and minds from contraction and suffering. In this
silent meditation retreat, open to both beginning and experienced
meditators, we will explore this central Buddhist discourse dedicated
to mindfulness meditation practice. Bringing in mindful movement and
loving kindness meditation we will ground our practice in
compassionate presence.
Rebecca Bradshaw is a Guiding Teacher at Insight Meditation Society
in Barre, MA. She has been teaching meditation since 1993, and is a
Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has been leading the annual residential Vipassana
retreat with the Yellow Springs Dharma Center since 2006.
The retreat will be held at the Jesuit Spiritual Center of Milford, Ohio located north of
Cincinnati on beautiful grounds next to the Little Miami River. All participants will have a
single room and vegetarian meals will be provided.

Both the seven day and the two day retreat are appropriate for
those new to residential retreat as well as those more

experienced.

All are welcome to attend either retreat.

Registration will be open in late October. Please watch here for

“NURTURING THE SEVEN QUALITIES OF AN AWAKENED HEART”

With Rebecca Bradshaw, Insight Meditation Society,
Assisted by Milena Cardenas Ophuls

Rebecca Bradshaw

Seven beautiful qualities of heart and mind are strengthened through our meditation practice, increasing our capacity to be present and to develop wisdom and compassion. Mindfulness, investigation, energy, joyous interest, calm, concentration, and equanimity nurture the heart/mind with the courage and depth needed to awaken. Our retreat will take place in the warmth of springtime and with the support of community. Rebecca Bradshaw and Milena Cardenas Ophuls will provide instruction and guidance in exploring these seven supports for awakening, including metta (loving kindness) practice and mindful movement.

Milena Cardenas Ophuls

This seven-day retreat (and three-day option) will be held in silence with alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation. Each day includes guided Vipassana and loving kindness practice, an evening dharma talk, and opportunities to meet with the teacher. Students are encouraged to consider the seven-day option, which offers an opportunity for a greater deepening of practice.

Rebecca Bradshaw is a Guiding Teacher at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA, and the Guiding Teacher of the Insight Meditation Center of Pioneer Valley, MA. She teaches retreats around the United States and abroad, and holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.

Milena Cardenas Ophuls has practiced Vipassana since 1996. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and in her native Columbia, Milena worked as a licensed psychologist. She is currently in training with Rebecca to become a dharma teacher.

The Jesuit Spiritual Center of Milford, Ohio, is located north of Cincinnati. Our retreat will be located in the Loyola Building, which sits back on an oak-lined drive between the peaceful flow of the Little Miami River and the ample grounds of the old Jesuit Novitiate. Vegetarian meals will be provided, and all rooms are single.
